About the project

Interactive software for exploring the airport, from a Joy-Con flight game to a panoramic viewer. At ART+COM, I developed flight input and game interactions in 2026, following work on the airfield scopes in 2024.

Move your hands.
Find your way through the sky.

The airplane responds to the gyroscopes in a pair of Joy-Con controllers. Players steer through a course of rings, with the game translating their movements into direction, feedback, and a score.

My work connected the physical input to the application: assigning controllers, handling their connections, and developing the game’s selection, flight, and scoring behavior.

01 / From controller to game

Two controllers.
One clear response.

The interaction starts before takeoff. The application needs to know which controller belongs to which hand, and respond consistently when controllers connect or change.

Keeping the pair in order

I worked on left and right controller assignment, including switching to another complete pair if the active pair loses a controller. I also added checks and retries to confirm that a connected controller was actually sending motion data.

Making a hit feel like a hit

A plane could visibly clip a ring with its wing and still score a miss. I adjusted the crossing test to account for the wingspan, and corrected the scoring allowance to reflect the time the course actually takes. The feedback needed to agree with what the player could see and do.

Turn toward
another story.

A physical viewer pans through a virtual airport panorama. Focusing on a topic opens a film; a turn of the wheel takes visitors through photographs and bilingual stories about cargo, global connections, and the airport’s wider role.

One wheel, several states

I developed the wheel-driven slides, bilingual content presentation, and transitions between the panorama, films, and deeper information.

The wheel needed to behave differently as the experience changed. I corrected unwanted slide changes outside the slideshow, then made moving from a film into the slides an explicit wheel interaction.

Project context

Fraport’s Visitor Center introduces the airport through models, media, and interactive exhibits. Its 2021 exhibition was developed by ART+COM and COORDINATION.

My work shown here dates to 2024 and 2026. The venue photograph documents the earlier exhibition. The public exhibit titles and release status of these particular application versions remain unconfirmed.
