About the project
A mobile web experience inviting people to look closely, follow a character’s story, and contribute photographs of the places around them. At ART+COM, I worked on the photo flows, interactive gallery, and multilingual interface.

The project
A place holds more
than one story.
ChemiSee is part of ChemiNova, a European research project concerned with protecting cultural heritage. It gives people a way to engage with a place through character-led stories, close observation, and their own photographs.
ART+COM developed the experience within the ChemiNova consortium. In November 2025, project partners and local participants tried ChemiSee at La Nau, the University of Valencia’s cultural centre.

Your perspective
becomes part of it.
A character provides a starting point. Photo tasks invite people to notice the place and its surroundings, then contribute an image with context. I worked on the capture and contribution flow, including the screens for adding a description and optional name.

02 / From image to context
Keep the story
with the photograph.
I worked on the gallery’s overview and detail interactions, preserving titles and dates as an image moves between them. When the gallery moved from bundled samples to CMS content, I adjusted image preloading and duplicate handling to support that asynchronous flow.
Changing language, together
Interface labels and story content arrive through different parts of the application. I updated language switching to wait for the route’s translated content before advancing, so the next screen would not open with the previous language’s story.
